Service Description
ICE Cubes Service is a simple and cost-effective way for your experiment or technology to fly onboard the International Space Station. The facility hosts experiments designed around 10 cm cubes (1U) or combinations of this volume – there is room for 12 cubes on top and two rows of four cubes below. Experiments can also be attached outside the ICE Cubes facility.

Services offered
- Experiment feasibility evaluation and assistance in defining the system / operational requirements
- Development: standard service includes limited assistance during payload development. Additional assistance offered in design, development and/or verification of the payload.
- Integrated tests: standard service of limited assistance during payload development. Additional assistance offered with design, development and/or verification of the payload if requested.
- Agency and launcher contact: arrangement of all “ready-for-launch” reviews of the payload.
- In-flight: installation of the cube will be into the ICE Cubes Facility.
- Activation and hand over: through ICE Cubes Mission Control Centre – of direct control of the experiment, customers have real-time access to their payloads (for control and data retrieval)
- Duration in orbit: minimum 1 month
- Return/disposal: return or disposal of the Experiment Cube/s
