Space Cargo Unlimited is a European space company focused on enabling industrial-scale manufacturing and research in microgravity. The company’s vision is to make space a practical production environment, helping industries develop products and processes that can benefit life on Earth. Rather than treating space solely as a destination for exploration, Space Cargo Unlimited is working to establish it as a scalable manufacturing platform with regular access and return capabilities.
At the core of Space Cargo Unlimited’s offering is BentoBox™, a standardized in-space manufacturing platform designed to simplify access to microgravity. The system provides a controlled, autonomous, and fully monitored environment with integrated power, thermal management, communications, and payload interfaces. By standardizing infrastructure, BentoBox™ allows researchers and companies to focus on their products and experiments rather than developing custom space hardware for each mission.
Space Cargo Unlimited is particularly focused on overcoming one of the historic barriers to commercial space manufacturing: reliable and cost-effective return of products and samples to Earth. The company partners with commercial re-entry vehicle providers to support regular launch and return missions, enabling rapid recovery and analysis of payloads after flight. This approach aims to create a repeatable and scalable pathway for industries interested in exploiting the unique conditions of microgravity.
The company has already demonstrated its commitment to commercial space applications through projects such as Mission WISE, a privately funded mission that sent grapevine samples to the International Space Station and returned them to Earth for agricultural research and commercial product development. Looking ahead, Space Cargo Unlimited plans to expand its capabilities through a fleet-based approach, integrating BentoBox™ across multiple partner vehicles and future proprietary platforms, including its planned REV1™ vehicle.
By combining standardized infrastructure, regular mission opportunities, and end-to-end operational support, Space Cargo Unlimited seeks to make in-space manufacturing accessible to a wide range of sectors, including advanced materials, biotechnology, life sciences, and agriculture. Its long-term goal is to enable routine production in orbit and help establish a sustainable commercial economy in Low Earth Orbit.
Danish Industry – DI – is Denmark’s largest, most representative and most influential business and employers’ organisation, representing more than 20,000 companies that employ around 650,000 people across manufacturing as well as service industries — from transport, energy and IT to health, trade and professional services.
Working regionally, nationally, in Europe and around the world, DI connects people, companies and decision-makers, and brings its members advocacy, advice, knowledge and networks — working for a business community that drives innovation, creates jobs and turns knowledge into value.
Danish companies have a long tradition of contributing to the space economy, including the space programmes of Europe and the United States, and developing and delivering the high-quality technology the sector demands.
At Space for Inspiration 2026, DI hosts the session From Innovation to Scale, exploring how space companies can turn innovative products and solutions into scalable business.
We look forward to meeting partners from across the European space ecosystem — at our stand and in our session — to explore how Danish industry is helping build the commercial space economy.
Space Forge is a UK-based space technology company focused on manufacturing advanced materials in space and returning them to Earth for commercial use. Founded in 2018 and headquartered in Cardiff, Wales, the company is developing reusable in-orbit manufacturing platforms that leverage the unique conditions of space, including microgravity, ultra-clean vacuum, and extreme temperature environments, to produce materials that are difficult or impossible to manufacture on Earth.
The company’s primary focus is on next-generation semiconductor materials and other high-performance products that can benefit from the space environment. According to Space Forge, microgravity eliminates many of the defects that occur during terrestrial manufacturing, while the vacuum of space reduces contamination and enables more precise crystal growth. These advantages could lead to more efficient semiconductors and advanced materials for applications ranging from telecommunications and renewable energy to computing and aerospace.
At the heart of Space Forge’s approach is its ForgeStar® platform, an autonomous spacecraft designed to manufacture materials in orbit and support the return of valuable products to Earth. The company is also developing proprietary return technologies, including its Pridwen heat shield, with the goal of enabling routine, cost-effective recovery of manufactured materials while reducing space debris and supporting satellite reusability.
A major milestone was achieved in June 2025 with the launch of ForgeStar®-1, the UK’s first in-space manufacturing satellite. The mission was designed to demonstrate the viability of manufacturing advanced materials in orbit and validate key technologies required for future commercial operations. Subsequent mission updates reported successful in-orbit operation of the company’s manufacturing system, including the generation of plasma for semiconductor production processes, marking an important step toward scalable commercial manufacturing in space.
Space Forge’s long-term vision is to establish a new industrial capability where high-value materials are routinely produced in orbit and returned to Earth. By combining reusable spacecraft, in-space manufacturing expertise, and return technologies, the company aims to unlock new opportunities for industries that require advanced materials with superior performance characteristics. Through this approach, Space Forge is helping lay the foundations for a sustainable commercial manufacturing ecosystem in Low Earth Orbit.
Lambda Space is an Italian aerospace company, founded early 2026, developing affordable and accessible microgravity services for research, technology development, and commercial innovation. Its flagship platform, Lungo, is a reusable autonomous unmanned aerial vehicle designed to generate microgravity and reduced-gravity conditions, including lunar and Martian gravity levels, through parabolic flight.
The company aims to remove the barriers that currently limit access to reduced-gravity environments. Traditional microgravity campaigns often involve long lead times, limited flight availability, and high costs, making them inaccessible to many organisations. Lambda Space takes a fundamentally different approach: flights are scheduled around the customer’s timeline, not the other way around, at a dramatically lower cost than existing platforms.
Central to this flexibility is the Cage, a standardised, hot-swappable payload interface. Customers integrate their experiment into the Cage in their own facility, using the power, data, onboard storage, and structural interfaces it provides. Once shipped to Lambda Space, the Cage slots directly into Lungo with no lengthy integration campaign enabling rapid turnaround between flights and a true iterate, fly, learn development cycle.
Lungo enables customers to test technologies, conduct scientific experiments, validate hardware, and prepare future space missions without the cost and complexity of orbital access. The platform supports a wide range of users, from startups and universities to established companies looking to evaluate hardware performance in reduced-gravity conditions. By positioning microgravity testing as a risk mitigation step within the space supply chain, Lambda Space helps organisations identify and resolve issues before committing to orbital flight.
Through its reusable flight system and high-cadence model, Lambda Space serves as a bridge between laboratory testing and spaceflight providing reliable, frequent access to microgravity and reduced-gravity environments that supports innovation across the European space economy.
